So, I found a battered antique toaster walking home one night.  Since I was overdue one wedding gift for some good friends it was thus designated as the chassis for a tube RIAA/phono preamp.  I used an old Fisher stage found online for the only reason that it was one of the few that used only two triodes per channel. 

The bad: 

1. 1)The input+output impedances are likely no where close to what the circuit was originally designed for, resulting in, uh, questionable performance.
   

2. 2)Little testing was done in the end because of self-imposed time constraints, I’m such a nice guy.

The good: 

1. 1)It works.
   

2. 2)It’s in an old toaster.
   

3. 3)Custom “antique” power cord thanks to ripped up bungee cord.
